WAITING FOR SUNDAY
From the sublime to the ridiculous, often offbeat, occasionally on-the-one… The Waiting Room has put on regular Happenings on Sunday nights for the past 20 years. Our line-ups include original and experimental music, live art, comedy, spoken word and cinema. Expect the unexpected.
Food and drink is served in the early part of the evening, with table service and cabaret-style seating. Tickets can be purchased below, Please book tables for food by calling the restaurant in advance on 01642 780465.

Cannonball Statman + Support
A native of NYC, Cannonball Statman has penned over 100 songs, released over a dozen albums, and done extensive tours in North America, Europe, and East Asia, sharing stages with artists such as Jeffrey Lewis, Days N' Daze, Julia Cumming, and David Peel. His unique style sets soulful and often surreal lyrics that Radio Javali calls "great American storytelling" to music that daMusic describes as "quite fun".

Group Listening
New music from meditative heavy hitters Group Listening(Stephen Black aka Sweet Baboo & Paul Jones) who have been working on a follow up to their stunning debut. Clarinet & Piano: Selected Works, Vol.1 was a haunting, reflective and lovingly considered selection box of musical reworkings. It featured reimagined tracks by the likes of Arthur Russell, Brian Eno and Robert Wyatt.
Fast forward a couple of years and the band have collaborated with Lampchop, Ed Dowie and Cate Le Bon, released a 12” of Fatima Yamaha rework, have toured with Gruff Rhys, performed at Green Man festival, Le Guess Who, End of the Road and are set to open for Teenage Fanclub soon.
Their second long player, due for release early 2022 features piano and clarinet takes on Laraaji, Beverly-Glenn Copeland and Niger synth pioneer Mamman Sani and many more. The band will be available for 2021 shows followed by album touring in May 2022. Please get in touch for availability and any questions…
